[edit] User Guide for the OSD-Menu structure

Through the OSD-Menu of the Reelbox, you will encounter innovative and easy functions, which make a completely new multi-media experience possible. Read the following chapters "Main Menu" and "Configuration". Try some of the described actions with your remote control to get familiar with the basics of controlling your Reelbox.

[edit] Main Menu

Open the main menu by pressing the menu button. In the top bar of the OSD you can see the following information:

  • Used harddisc space in percentage.
  • Free harddisc space in time format "hours:minutes".
  • At the end you'll find the the name of the used image.

Followed by 4 submenus and at the bottom the function of the ABCD buttons and current date and time.

[edit] Sub menues

Select one of the submenues with the "direction" keys (around the 'OK' button) and press OK to open:

  1. TV/Radio
  2. PVR/Timers
  3. Mediacenter
  4. Add-ons/Misc.

use "exit" to return to previous menu.

[edit] Function Keys

At the bottom of the screen you see 4 coloured bars with their function. This function depends on the menu you're in which means that these 4 buttons (A, B, C and D) will have a different effect in different menues. When, for example, "audio" is written in the green bar, pressing the green button (B) will give yuo some info about the audio signal(s) of the channel you're watching.

[edit] Power On/Off, Stand-by modes

The Reelbox has 2 stand-by modes, the difference is in the power consumption and the startup time. When a timer is set, the Reelbox will automatically switch on to record the programmed channel (TV or radio). To assure reliable recordings, the Reelbox is activated a few minutes earlier than the timer was set.

[edit] Power On/Off

When there are no timers set, you'd better switch of the Reelbox completely with the power switch on the rear. In case of a holiday you should also unplug the power cable from the outlet.

[edit] Stand-by

By pressing the power button on the remote control or on the Reelbox itself, you can get the Reelbox in and out of the stand-by mode. In the stand-by mode the power consumption is about 18-20 Watts and is ready to go in a few seconds. The display will show the current time and the backlight is slightly dimmed. If a 'Timer' is active this will be shown in the display by TIMER.

[edit] Deep Stand-by

You can only put the Reelbox in deep stand-by mode when he's in 'normal' stand-by mode. Only then will pressing the "exit" button put the Reelbox in and out of his deep stand-by mode. In deep sand-by mode the power consumption is reduced to about 4 Watts, the backlight of the display is switched off. Starting up from deep stand-by mode will take the Reelbox remarkably more time from 30 to 90 seconds, depending upon the used image. The display will show the current time and if a 'Timer' is active this will be shown in the display by TIMER.
