If you are using WindowsXP pro, make sure your network authentication settings (go start > network connections > properties of the connection used > authentication) are correct. If you really have to use IEEE 802.1X authentication, enable guest authentication. The simpler solution is to switch IEEE 802.1X authentication off. It's set to on by default in a XP pro environment and normaly causes more of a headache than any benefit in a home network environment.
